Secondary Impact Crusher
A secondary impact crusher is a stone crushing machine that uses impact energy to crush stone. It can process materials with side lengths of 300-900 mm. The finished product is cubic in shape, and the particle size is adjustable.
- Capacity: 90-800 t/h
- Feed Size: <300-900 mm
- Output Size: 20-80 mm
The secondary impact crusher is a widely used stone crusher and one of the commonly used models in the production of high-grade road materials and high-speed rail aggregates. It is suitable for medium and fine crushing of various soft and medium-hard ores.
Sandreck‘s secondary impact crushers use high-chromium plate hammers, which are impact-resistant and wear-resistant, effectively extending the service life of vulnerable parts. They are mainly used in mining, cement, metallurgy, refractory materials and other industries, as well as in highway construction, water conservancy projects, and building aggregate processing.

Secondary Impact Crusher Working Principle
The core component of a secondary impact crusher is a high-speed rotating rotor. Hammers on the rotor crush the material entering the crushing chamber at high speed. The crushed material is then thrown against impact liners mounted above the rotor for further crushing. The material then bounces back from the impact liners to the hammer impact zone for repeated crushing.
This process repeats within the crushing chamber. The material undergoes multiple impacts and collisions between the hammers and impact liners until it is crushed to the desired particle size and finally discharged from the bottom of the machine. The output particle size and shape can be changed by adjusting the gap between the impact frame and the rotor.
Secondary impact crushers are typically equipped with spring- or gravity-based safety devices. When non-crushable materials enter the crushing chamber, the safety device automatically retracts the impact frame, discharging the foreign object and protecting the machine from damage.

Advantages of Secondary Impact Crusher
- Compared to hammer crushers, secondary impact crushers have a larger rotor momentum, making them suitable for crushing materials with higher hardness.
- This machine features three-stage crushing and shaping functions, resulting in a large crushing ratio and a cubic product shape.
- The discharge particle size can be flexibly adjusted by regulating the rotor speed, the gap between the impact plates and the grinding chamber, and other methods.
- The feed chute and impact plates of the secondary impact crusher can be equipped with heating devices. This helps reduce material adhesion. A bottom screen plate further reduces the possibility of material blockage.
- At normal rotor speeds, material mainly falls onto the impact surface of the hammers, resulting in less wear on the back and sides. Replacing the bottom grinding bars is also convenient.
- An over-iron protection device is included. Each impact frame has a buffer protection system, providing some protection during iron contact and minimizing or even preventing damage to the main unit.

Secondary Impact Crusher Applications
Secondary impact crushers produce aggregates, manufactured sand, and other finished materials used in high-speed railways, highways, concrete, bridges, municipal engineering, real estate, hydropower stations, metallurgical projects, and other engineering projects. This equipment is generally suitable for processing materials with a compressive strength not exceeding 350 MPa.
Secondary impact crushers are often used in conjunction with jaw crushers, cone crushers, and other crushing equipment. They are used for medium and fine crushing, and secondary/tertiary crushing. In some production lines for road and high-speed rail aggregates, where high requirements are placed on shaping, appearance, and grade, equipping the production line with an impact crusher can effectively solve the problem.
